Muttom is a big village in Kanyakumari District of the Tamil Nadu State,
India.It is well known for its beach. The major occupation of people in
Muttom is fishing. Muttom village is attracted by people because of
beautiful beaches. More than hundreds of people come to beach every day
and spending their time on the beach shore. Muttom is a fishing village, located 16 kilometers
from the capital town Nagercoil. Muttom is located at 8.13°N 77.32°E.
It is well connected by road to the Nagercoil town. It is approximately
75 km from the Trivandrum International Airport. It is reachable from
Kanyakumariby road with a distance of about 34 km.Nearest villages are
Esanthangu, Ammandivillai, Pillaithoppu, Azhikal, Kadiyapattanam &
Manavala Kurichi.Major roads to reach muttom via Ammandivillai ,
Esanthangu & Nagercoil. There is also a 100-year old lighthouse. The
lighthouse, though near the sea, is situated 110 feet above sea level.
The skelton was build when India was part of the British Empire until
1947.
