introduction

First of all ,My great shout and thanks to Bede Griffiths Charitable Trusts especially to Jill & Adrian but not limited to all those people involved ! thank you for your time and your hospitality ,your kindness and supports to the muttom civilians !! Hats Off....

Muttom, a coastal village, Our Village is a popular place with lotta tourists everyday . The terrain in our village and its surroundings is hilly and from a height one can see an idyllic view of the place, with a Portuguese style church standing in the middle of the village. The beach-area is somewhat rocky. There is also a 100-year old lighthouse. The lighthouse, though near the sea, is situated on a land mass some 105 feet above sea level. The lighthouse originally came up here in olden days, because of the presence of a huge rock, near Muttom called 'Crocodile Rock'. The floors of the lighthouse have lot of holes as for architecture aesthetic and it will be scary for some to reach the top. Another attractive feature of this area, is a ravine-like area with reddish earth (soil)we use to name "Sivanthaman" and casurina trees near the sea-side. and our place is very popular with Tamil and Keralite film-makers, esp. Bharathiraja, who gave a hit Movie called Kadalora kavithaigal.
